Well we are off and racing, day 1 has started.
The day began with a nice and early 0530 alarm clock from the wife’s bedside table. Today was her first day back to work since Benjamin was born, and the idea of getting up/dressed/ready for when Ben awoke so she could have an hour of play time before work, was quickly followed by a short play, soiled nappy and sleep time (first sign that nothing goes to plan).
After a teary farewell dropping the wife off, we head through the public service Grand Prix on the parkway while cranking the best of disney, towards Ben’s once a week socialising course (day care). On arrival, I place Ben down to play while I unpack his bag, only to turn around and see him eyeing off a little ranga girl, blonde would be better, but hey he’s to young to know yet…..
Back at home after a few hours lying on the couch trying to get rid of this god awful virus (no it’s not man flu), I head back to pick Ben up and see what trouble he has caused, only to find him chatting up the teacher with his cheeky grin. We head off to pick the wife up from work this time cranking the wiggles, the album with the original yellow wiggle, not the new whingy one Sam. As the wife gets in the car she turns around to Ben to make the usual baby talk faces and sounds, only to look at me and say “that’s not his bib” then after another look “that’s not his dummy clip either, what else have you stolen from daycare”.
At least I got the right kid, Ming Lee……oh wait…….crap
